Suzanne La Croix, M.S.

is an ethologist.

She addresses animal behavior concerns from a scientific perspective that balances physiological bases for behavior with the proximate environmental influences. Her professional approach emphasizes adjustments to both human expectations and pet behavior for realistic, long term solutions.

Suzanne has created beneficial human-animal interactions for Michigan clients in both the public and private sectors since 1992. Most recently, Suzanne was the co-founder and president of the nonprofit agency, AnimaLink, Inc.

Suzanne is currently a researcher at Michigan State University in the Department of Zoology and in the Department of Ecology, Evolutionary Biology and Behavior.  Her doctoral program projects investigate canid behavior with emphases on behavior ontogeny, morphometrics and social cognition.  She holds a Master of Science degree from Central Michigan University where her dissertation work, “Agonistic behavior patterns of the domestic dog in response to a threatening stimulus” incorporated innovative research tools in quantifying behavior in canines.
